It is a little-known secret in the cigar industry that Haiti grows its own premium tobacco. The tobacco is grown in the fertile soils of Mirebalais, which is located in Plateau Central of Haiti. Bohekio cigars are known for their rich flavor and pleasing aroma. The cigars are handmade in Haiti by Supreme Tobacco. The cigar is named after Bohekio. He was the Cacique (Chief) of the Xaragua people, who were part of the Tainos: the first inhabitants of the island of Hispaniola
